My exhibition showcases the intricacies and complexities of texture in art through a selection of mediums and techniques . Guided by my passion for creating contrast and evoking emotions through simple pieces , I aim to provide the viewer with a unique and inspiring perspective on the world .
The exhibition starts with my etchings , which highlight tactile and rough textures , serving as the foundation for the other works . I was driven by my desire to create realistic pieces , using different textures and experimenting with stroke lengths and intensities to bring each piece to life . As the exhibition unfolds , I invite the viewer on a journey through the natural world with black and white photography . From capturing delicate flower anthers to mountain snowcaps , I aim to showcase the contrast between the serenity of these landscapes and the lack of colour in my work .
Afterwards , I sought to bring emotions to the forefront through watercolour painting . I used colour to evoke feelings and depth , layering different textures to breathe life into each piece and connect with the viewer on an emotional level . I finally explored the digital realm , pushing the boundaries of textures created and manipulated by digital tools . These pieces represent the pinnacle of the progression of textures throughout the exhibition , fusing the traditional textures of etching , the natural textures of black and white photography , and the emotive textures of watercolour painting with the power of technology .
Through this exhibition , I hope to inspire the viewer to appreciate the depth and beauty of texture in art and convey that texture can evoke emotions , tell a story and challenge perceptions .
