As we’re gearing up for another semester of pulling all-nighters, countless hours of service, and many fun filled days with your fellow Circle K friends, an annual event that we all must start thinking about is CKI Service Week. This week is to showcase each of the service partners and preferred charities. As you start to think about how you can incorporate Six Cents into the week’s activities, I urge you to think of ways you can not only educate your campus and community, but also ways to fundraise. Lately I have been working on a proposed schedule that your chapter can utilize for a Six Cents day of service. Included in this day of events are projects that take education and fundraising, and combine them into one! Be on the lookout for a resource from international that will provide you with my proposed day of activities, as well as a proposed schedule from each of the other service ambassadors! Whether you follow our ideas to a T, or make your own special schedule, CKI Service Week is sure to be a fun filled event for your chapter!
Apart from this schedule, I hope you have seen the new logo that has appeared on our Facebook page. The full name of our initiative is “Saving Lives: The Six Cents Initiative.” Most people are aware of the Six Cents name, and nothing else. I thought it would be a good idea to promote the first portion of our name, by creating the new logo. I took the well known “I <3 NY” and designed a “I <3 Saving Lives” logo. With the help of Marcelo Urieta-Bravo, the Hill Country LTG for Texas-Oklahoma District, the logo was created, and is now available on our Facebook group. If you would like to use the logo, it is available for download through that medium. Also, I can provide you with the original .png file if your club would like to apply it to resources.
Lastly, I am looking to create a resource that highlights the projects of Circle K clubs around the World, that directly relate to the aim of Six Cents Initiative. Saying that, I need submissions from any club who participates in projects that promote clean water solutions. If your club participates, or if you know of any club, please submit those ideas to [email protected].
Thank you so much for your continued support of our initiative! Together we are making a difference in the lives of millions of children around the World! If you ever have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me!
