At this stage Largemouth Yellowfish (Largies) are occupying a lot of my time and tying efforts in my life and it has become a full blown obsession trying to figure out these mystical beasts.

Having managed to land two last year, this has just put fuel on the fire and I am really putting in the casts (all 10000 of them) this season. As for species I still have to add to the list, I have to say that a GT is right at the top of my list.

What species is on your "most wanted" List?

What is your favorite species to fish for and why?

Tigerfish without a shadow of a doubt. It is a fish that truly epitomises Africa for me. The places you target then are beautiful and wild, but above and beyond that they are beautiful fish, hit the fly harder than anything else I’ve experienced and are incredibly fast and acrobatic.

A true challenge to catch on the fly.

What is your dream destination?

To fish the remote outer Atolls of the Seychelles, especially Providence and Cosmoledo has been a dream of mine for more than a decade now. One day, after robbing a bank or winning the lotto, I will definitely have to do this trip.

If I had to choose one brand of rod for all types of fly fishing (fresh and salt), it would have to be the Scott Radian and Meridian ranges. Beautifully crafted and the highest attention to detail, these are also by a long shot the best rods I have cast. In terms of reels, I love the Shilton range, they are pretty much bullet proof. Lines are a tricky story, but I prefer RIO for most of my general freshwater work and Sci Anglers or Airflo for tiger fish and the salt.
