The Real Life Event: The Hodgson family believed that they were haunted by a spirit when their daughter Janet was filmed speaking in a deep voice. They believed that their daughter was possessed by the previous owner who was named Bill. Bill did happen to die in the armchair downstairs from a brain hemorrhage. Similar to the film, there was unexplainable knocking from within the walls and the family do claim that the saw things moving. In one incident a police officer even noted in a report that she saw a chair move in front of her. While the only common link to the first Conjuring was the family of Warren, they played a minor role in this story as paranormal investigators who visited the family during the paranormal events.
