JUNIOR FIREFIGHTER HOSTS COMMUNITY SHOWCASE AS PART OF SENIOR PROJECT
Central Mountain High School student and junior firefighter Noah Gentzyel recently hosted a First Responder Showcase as part of his senior project. Held at Eastside Fire Rescue-Station 42, the event gave the community an up-close look at the world of emergency services.
Attendees had the opportunity to tour various fire apparatus and even a tour of the Goodwill Hose Ambulance Association-Medic 21 unit. Guests learned about the essential gear firefighters wear daily and many even took to the skies for a ride in the station’ s impressive Tower Truck.
Noah, who has been a member of the Lock Haven Fire Department since 2021( originally with the former Hope Hose Company, now known as Eastside Fire Rescue) is passionate about serving his community. He is set to begin his senior year at Central Mountain High School this fall and plans to pursue a degree in Natural Resource Management at Commonwealth University-Bloomsburg.
CENTRAL MOUNTAIN HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL TEAM RECEIVES GUARDIAN HELMET CAPS
We are pleased to announce that Bear Country Radio and The Record Online ' s Go Fund Me campaign raised enough money to provide Guardian Helmet Caps for the entire Central Mountain High School football team. These caps provide more effective protection than helmets alone- concussions can be minimized by up to 50 %. Over 3000 high schools, colleges( including Penn State), and NFL teams are currently using Guardian Helmet Caps. Last fall, we outfitted the Jersey Shore football team with these caps. Our goal is to now expand this drive and raise money to get caps for Jersey Shore and Central Mountain middle school teams.
Go to gofundme. com- search " Helmet Pads- Play Hard, Stay Safe " to contribute. Thank you for caring- and for your generosity!
