Wafer Paper Leaves
Step 1 To craft a variety of leaf shapes, start with thin A4 sheets of wafer paper. Fold the paper into one-inch strips, which will allow you to create multiple leaf pieces.
Step 2 To create leaf shapes on wafer paper, use a non-toxic pencil or an edible marker to draw freehand designs. You will need at least 80 single pieces, these will make 40 wired leaves to decorate with. The leaves I created are available in two sizes: one measures approximately 2 inches in length and 1.3 inches at its widest point, while the other is about 1 inch long and half an inch wide. You have the flexibility to choose whichever size best suits you.
Step 3
Once you have cut out all your leaf shapes, it ' s time to assemble them. Start by placing two leaf shapes next to each other, then take a piece of 24-gauge floral wire and position it halfway up the centre of one leaf. Lightly brush water onto the leaf with the wire using a paintbrush, and then carefully place the second leaf on top, pressing down firmly to ensure a secure bond between the two.
Step 4 To complete your project, you ' ll need approximately 40 leaves, so keep repeating this process until you have created all the necessary pieces.
