Welcome Back and Open House
Sugar Valley Rural Charter School returned to the classrooms on August 21 , 2024 . Teachers and students are kicking off the school year by introducing themselves and talking about all of the great things they can expect this school year .
Here are some tips to help be sure your students have fantastic school year :
• Get enough sleep .
• Eat a healthy breakfast ( SVRCS has a free breakfast for all students !)
• Try your best .
• Use good work habits , like writing down your assignments and turning in your homework on time .
• Take your time with school work . If you don ’ t understand something , ask the teacher .
• Keep a sense of humor .
• Don ’ t be afraid to talk to your mom , dad , teacher , or principal with any concerns you may have .
SVRCS will be hosting an Open House on September 11th , at 6pm . This will be a great time to show you families your classroom and school . This will also be a great opportunity to support SVRCS Athletics , as the Junior High and Varsity Volleyball teams host home games . Junior High Volleyball starts at 4pm against Bald Eagle Area Junior High and JV / Varsity hosts South Williamsport beginning at 5:30pm and 7pm .
From the SVRCS Cafeteria
The ladies in the cafeteria are excited about their new serving spaces in what we all know as the “ Multi-Purpose Room ” has now been designated to the new cafeteria . Mrs . Miller , Food Service Director , has been working with the Pennsylvania Harvest of the Month program to help promote local agriculture . Each month , she will work to engage students to learn about the local agriculture and open them up to trying new foods and recipes . The bulletin board will showcase a new fruit or vegetable to learn about and try as often as possible , and fun facts about the foods .
