Or can you? I think that I have the solution and
it’s as simple as gravity. Literally.
If you stack paintballs up in a perfectly straight
tube and let them fall, the absolute fastest
that they can fall is 11 balls a second. Period.
Science. So, if you restricted paintball players to
using agitated paintball loaders that in no way
force feed the paint, the absolute best speed
possible would be 7 to 9 balls a second. That’s
it. It wouldn’t matter what kind of marker
you had or how many modifications it had;
gravity would not let you shoot faster than 7-9
balls a second. Best of all, it would be an easy
check for ref’s… the paddles of the agitated
loader would have to be relatively straight
and couldn’t extend over the hole where the
paintballs drop.
It’s that simple. Gravity solves the problem.
It’s an easy and inexpensive part for players
to purchase. It’s an easy rule for referees to
enforce and paintball manufacturers get a
relatively new product to produce and sell.
Everybody wins and we can go back to whining
about wiping the way the game was intended
to be played… but that’s just my opinion…
