Malloy, 68, of Colebrook, died peacefully on Sunday morning, Sept. 18, 2016, at the Upper Connecticut Valley Hospital with his family by his side after a brief battle with cancer. He was born in Watertown, Mass., on Sept. 24, 1947. He attended Watertown public schools and later attended Boston University for two years. John loved traveling, especially with his wife and father. His favorite spots included Las Vegas and the various islands of the Caribbean. To celebrate one of their wedding anniversaries, he and his wife Maureen took a dream vacation to Europe where they were immersed in the cultures of Italy, Spain, Greece, and Turkey. It was a once in a lifetime trip that he spoke of often with enthusiasm and excitement. John’s greatest love was for his family. He was happiest when his family was gathered together and sharing stories of their childhood and life. Always the practical joker, he often found amusement in teasing his family members.
