I blinked and it is already September . My reign as the 2022-2023 WSCA Queen is coming to an end and I cannot believe how quickly this year went . This will be my final entry into the WSCA Spotlight as Queen and I cannot thank the Western Saddle Clubs Association for this amazing opportunity to be an ambassador for an organization that I love so much .
August was one of our busiest months as a court . We attended the 2023-2024 WSCA Queens Contest judging and banquet . It was a day filled with fun , laughter , tears , and excitement as we watched eight beautiful ladies complete their first portion of the WSCA Royalty contest . I am so excited to watch these women continue in their journey towards the WSCA Queen crown . It is a journey that comes with so much joy . Good luck to every single contestant , I am so excited for you all . Crown or no crown you will gain friends and interactions that will stay with you forever .
We were also welcomed with open arms to volunteer at the MN Special Olympics State Equestrian competition . This was by far my favorite event as WSCA queen . The contestants , volunteers , and staff were so welcoming and it was an absolute joy to attend .
We have one final event lined up before Champ Show . The court will be attending the MN State Fair on September 2nd to volunteer with Equimania and hand out awards during the evening WSCA show . We are so excited to be at the state fair grounds as we prepare for Champ Show where we will be handing our crowns to the next court .
To my court , Sarah , Jordan , Abby and Malli , thank you for making this a year one I will never forget . Thank you to my parents , The Minnesota Valley Riders Saddle Club , and so many friends that made this year possible . Thank you to WSCA , the organization that has been home for so many years . To Lori , Bridget , and Rachel for all of your hard work behind the scenes . Lastly to Streek — my main guy , this year would not have been the same with any horse but you as my royal ride . I will cherish the memories made for the rest of my life . I will see you all in the coliseum .
God Bless , Kalli Koepp 2022-2023 WSCA Queen
