Charbonneau Festival of the Arts ready for its 39th year

Charbonneau Arts Association is excited to present Arts with Flair , the 39th Annual Charbonneau Festival of the Arts , Sept . 22-24 . The festival has evolved significantly in the
MCLAIN past two years , now adding
some of the best jazz in our region , hundreds of attendees and 60-plus artists across all artistic media . This is the one event each year where our community has the opportunity to view world-class professional and student art up close in our own facilities . It is Wilsonville ’ s only art festival this year . And as always , proceeds from the festival and the silent auction benefit the arts programs at Canby and Wilsonville High Schools .
Invite your friends and family and prepare to get a head start on your holiday shopping . In the Clubhouse , artisans and artists from throughout the region will display and sell everything from wood creations , hand-crafted jewelry and framed fine art and photographs to high-end wearables and glass art . More shopping opportunities will be found in the Activity Center , where the Fine Art Gallery will showcase paintings , photography and other media by artists across the region and also from our local high schools . The Festival Store will offer cards and matted art by some of the same artists , all for

Charbonneau Arts Association is pleased to announce that the dedication ceremony for Sacajawea and her son John Baptiste Charbonneau will be held during the art festival on Saturday , September 23rd at 10 a . m . Rose Ann Abrahamson , great , great , great grandniece of Sacajawea , and member of the Lemhi- Shoshone tribe , will be present for the ceremony .

The event opens Friday , Sept . 22 at 6 p . m ., in the Activity Center with the Gala Opening Night Celebration , featuring guitarist Kevin Karrick , hearty appetizers , champagne and the opportunity to bid at the fund-raising Silent Auction , which will be filled with creations donated by festival exhibitors and others . The Fine Art Gallery , Festival Store and Student Gallery will also open Friday , and attendees will get to vote for People ’ s Choice Awards . Tickets for the Opening Night Celebration are on sale on the CAA website at www . charbonneauarts . org , or at the Activity Center reception desk — $ 15 in advance , and $ 20 on the evening of the event . You can also purchase will-call tickets for the Mel Brown B3 Organ Group Performance for $ 20 , online or at the reception desk . Bonus ! When you purchase a ticket for the reception , your name will be entered to win a ticket to the Mel Brown concert , and when you purchase a ticket for the concert , you ’ ll have a chance to win a signed , limited-edition concert poster .

New features this year include an enhanced Student Art Gallery thanks to a grant from the City of Wilsonville that allowed us to purchase additional display panels for the students . That gallery will be in the Lewis and Clark rooms upstairs and include demonstrations by students and their teachers .
The festival will include many of the artists and vendors you ’ ve seen before plus a whole new group of painters , photographers , jewelers , woodworkers , fiber artists and glass workers . There truly will be something for everyone .
