Evelyn Gilbert-Bair
competitive US institutions . She established strong Sevenoaks relationships with leading US schools and sent pioneer students to multiple small liberal arts colleges in the US .
Within the department , we will never forget the warm American hospitality that Evelyn brought to every event she ran and organised – never underestimating the power of candy , pizza and ice cream in keeping up adolescent momentum ! Her ability to galvanise a sense of team spirit was wonderful to behold .
She will be equally missed by students and staff who worked alongside her . Inspiringly geographically mobile , we wish her all the best as she works in Cambridge on her PhD , alongside being a US and International Universities Consultant at King Edward ’ s Birmingham , whilst regularly popping back to the family base in New York !

ANNA WYNNE
Old Sennockian Anna Wynne ( OS 1995 ) began teaching harp at Sevenoaks in 2001 , following her MMus at the University of Leeds and a glittering performing career . Anna played regularly on BBC Radio , toured China with Kent Sinfonia and played with the Orquesta Sinfónica de Tenerife and Orquesta Filarmónica de Gran Canaria ; she has even performed for the Dalai Lama ! Anna has nurtured many talented harpists over the years , passing on a wealth of experience ; her patience has encouraged many new players to take up the harp , and her passion and love for music is quite evident in her teaching . Anna ’ s eternally cheerful approach has generated huge respect and warmth from both colleagues and pupils , and we shall greatly miss her in the department . Having recently gained a postgraduate Legal Practice Course qualification , Anna now aims to become a solicitor and is currently working as part of the legal team at the Incorporated Society of Musicians .

GAIL JONES
Gail has known Sevenoaks for many years as both parent and colleague , and has greatly enjoyed her connections with the school . She joined us in November 2005 , having previously been an accountant with Slaughter and May . As Finance Bursar , Gail demonstrated her meticulous scrutiny of data and long-term business planning and modelling . Gail was appointed Bursar upon the retirement of Andy Burton . As Bursar , Gail brought her skills from previous roles to oversee a restructuring of her team to ensure it continued to meet the needs of the school . Highly conscientious , she worked incredibly hard to carry out the very complex and demanding role of Bursar . Gail is very friendly , sociable , kind and has a good sense of humour . She was always concerned to look after colleagues and was extremely supportive of her direct reports . She was instrumental in our decisions as the Covid situation developed , and then in the long period of planning and preparing to reopen the school as a Covid-secure site . Gail will miss Sevenoaks , as we miss her , but she is looking forward to her retirement and has plans to enjoy the warmth of Cyprus and to take up new hobbies . We wish her well .
