BASKETBALL
A standout memory was during the LISBA semi-final against KCS Wimbledon. The game reached sudden death, and a spot for the finals was on the line. On the very first play, Paolo Radice Fossati made a risky allor-nothing drive to the basket, somehow managing to score, sending us to the finals. This game truly embodied our season; it showed our grit, heart and our perseverance.

A standout season with the U18 boys securing a third consecutive LISBA title amid a year of strong performances.

This year has been one of the most successful and memorable basketball seasons the school has seen. Eight different teams from U12 to U18 represented the school in 95 fixtures, winning 63 of them.
The U18 boys’ team, which I’ ve had the honour of playing for, had a near perfect season. We won 20 out of 23 games and brought home three trophies: the LISBA cup, the CIT cup and the Tonbridge cup. Winning the LISBA cup marked the third year in a row that the U18s have taken the title – an achievement we are incredibly proud of.
The U17 boys also had a great season, winning both the LISBA and Kent leagues. The U14 and U15 teams reached the LISBA semi-finals, proving the strength of our upcoming squads. The U12 and U13 teams had strong performances in the Junior NBA league, with both squads reaching the playoffs. The U18 girls’ team also had a strong season, winning three out of their four games. With limited fixtures, they made each game count and represented the school with pride.
Having played basketball throughout my entire time at Sevenoaks, I’ ve seen how much the sport has grown here. The level of play and the passion surrounding basketball has transformed. All this would not have been possible without Coach Korentzelos and his dedication to making every one of us better. Thanks to him we have all learnt valuable lessons, whilst making lifelong memories.
