This year has been one of the most exciting and successful seasons for our athletics squad, marked by outstanding performances, personal bests and a strong sense of school pride. From national competitions to local rivalries, our athletes have shown incredible determination, discipline and sportsmanship across every event. From every sports afternoon to each after-school training session, the turnout has been brilliant from every year group, showing an amazing sense of community and dedication to athletics. Through rain, wind and sun, no one has failed to put the extra lap in.
The Summer term was filled to the brim with success from all sides of the Sevenoaks squad. While the girls secured a first-place ticket to the ESAA nationals, the boys narrowly missed out. However, to our delight, we got a late opportunity to compete at the regional finals, where we managed to put in a great performance for the school.
For the combined events athletes, they took on the multi-disciplinary challenge of the pentathlon, testing their versatility and perseverance. It was a tough day of sprints, jumps, throws and endurance, but the athletes embraced the challenge and took it on with grit and pure strength. This drive rewarded us with spots in the top four of the region.
It has been an honour to captain and be a part of the Middle School squad this year; the group has a strong sense of community and radiates a positive atmosphere, which has undoubtedly been a key to our success. Congratulations to everybody involved, and let’ s go again next year!
