From the first rehearsals to the final curtain call, dancers supported one another, shared ideas and built friendships, raising more than £ 1200 for Rewilding Britain in the process.

This year’ s show featured an incredible variety of dance styles, including tap dancing, K-pop covers, contemporary, jazz, traditional Chinese dance, ballroom and many more. Many of these performances were choreographed by students, including Sixth Formers who mentored younger students creating their pieces. Others were brought to life under the expert guidance of our wonderful dance teachers, Miss Coomber and Mrs Rhatigan.
As someone who has been dancing for over 10 years, I know firsthand the dedication required to put together a performance, and every dancer involved in this year’ s show gave it their all. Rehearsals began at the start of the academic year, with dancers continually refining their routines. In the two months leading up to the performance, the entire team held weekly run-throughs to perfect every detail. As a member of the organising committee, I witnessed incredible progress – what started as rough drafts, with unfinished choreography and moments of unsynchronised movement, was transformed into a breathtaking display of skill and artistry.
Beyond the performances themselves, the show was an opportunity to build connections – not just across different performance styles, but also between year groups. Normally, we don’ t have much time to interact with students outside of our own year groups, but through the countless hours spent practising and rehearsing together, we formed friendships that extended beyond the stage. It was a wonderful experience.
A huge thank you to all the staff who supported the show, including Miss Coomber, Mrs Rhatigan and Ms Schaefer, as well as the technicians who handled lighting, the box office staff and everyone else who made the show possible. A special thanks also goes to the talented bakers and Foreign Language Assistants, whose efforts helped raise nearly £ 300 during the interval. In total we raised more than £ 1200 for Rewilding Britain, a charity dedicated to restoring natural ecosystems, reconnecting people with nature and tackling both biodiversity loss and climate change.
Finally, thanks to the whole organising team: Ria Devalia, Rachel Lee, Seira Sato, Dinara Shayakhmet and Vicky Sun. We can’ t wait to perform again next year!
