FRIENDS OF SEVENOAKS
The popular Striders’ Walks, with Anna and Sue, remained a firm favourite, bringing parents together for fresh air and friendly conversation. It was also great to see the launch of a Saturday morning running club and a regular Dads’ Group.
Our cultural events were a highlight: from Chinese dumpling making, the Nowruz lunch in London and an origami workshop with delicious tea, sushi and Japanese sweets, to a memorable trip to the Tate Modern for the Electric Dreams exhibition.

It has been a busy and rewarding year for the Friends of Sevenoaks!

As parents, we know that Sevenoaks School is committed not only to academic excellence, but also to nurturing collaboration, communication and teamwork. The Friends of Sevenoaks( FoS) share these values, and our mission is to help parents feel included, valued and connected. We work closely with the school to help foster this welcoming atmosphere for all families.
This year, FoS partnered with the school to host a wonderful calendar of events, both new and returning favourites. These ranged from the everpopular annual Quiz Night and drinks after the Carol Service to the vibrant Careers Fair, showcasing the incredible diversity of our parent community. FoS supported informative talks for parents, regular coffee mornings and special welcome drinks for new joiners. Throughout the year, FoS has also assisted various Service and environmental groups, and we look forward to continuing.
One of the most memorable and well-attended events was the exclusive studio tour with Art teacher Oliver Barratt( OS 1981), when parents enjoyed a behind-the-scenes look at the creative process of sculpture and spoke with Oliver about his work and life as an artist. The enthusiasm for this event shows how much our parent community values connecting with the talented teachers at Sevenoaks.
Our sold-out wine tasting event was a hit, and we hope to bring it to campus next year.
Social Coordinators kept the year group coffee mornings going, and several parents generously shared their expertise – offering sessions on meditation, fitness, writing and medical school applications.
Finally, the year concluded with the dazzling FoS Summer Masquerade Ball – a fantastic evening for all.
A huge thank you also to the wonderful volunteers who run the second-hand uniform shop, supporting so many parents and students throughout the year!
Looking ahead, we’ re committed to building even stronger links between families and the school and are grateful to share this journey with you, in the nurturing and dynamic environment provided by Sevenoaks School.
