THE SEVENOAKS SCHOOL FOUNDATION
The campus itself remains a cherished place for many. Despite the school’ s evolution, iconic locations like Old School, the IC, the Pamoja Hall, Sackville Theatre, Duke’ s Meadow and Swanzy continue to resonate with generations of Sennockians. The invitation is open for alumni and families to return and reconnect with these spaces – just contact the OS office and we will be delighted to show you round.
A poignant moment this year was the Annual Lunch on Claridge lawn, where alumni who left over 45 years ago shared stories and rekindled friendships. Many spoke fondly of their schooldays, especially those who attended through Kent Places( funded by the local authority). Their support for the school’ s Sevenoaks 600 vision, which aims to expand financial support for many, was strong and heartfelt.
Helping Sevenoaks School to flourish

This past year at the Foundation has been one of change, transition and possibility. We said goodbye to Michael and Danielle Joyce after years of service, and wish them well in their new adventures. Their legacy is deeply appreciated and visible in the beautiful new buildings across campus. In their place we have a new team working hard to support the school and helping the Sevenoaks community to flourish.
Reflecting on travels and meetings with alumni and parents, from San Francisco to Shanghai to Sevenoaks, I have been thinking about what makes a community. My conclusion is that strong communities are the result of connected people and special places. At Sevenoaks, students, alumni, parents and staff form diverse groups which all share a deep bond with the school. The Foundation aims to nurture this global Sennockian community, ensuring everyone feels a part of something special.
A few days later, we welcomed our newest students to the school. Understanding they are part of a global community of thousands, and celebrating their shared experiences, is something we look forward to showing all students, as they speed through their time at Sevenoaks and beyond.
A highlight of the year was the naming of the Brian Ong Global Centre( the OGC), honouring Brian Ong( OS 2002), the most generous alumnus in the school’ s history. We are grateful for his contributions as a trustee, donor and fundraiser, helping build a lasting endowment and inspiring others to give.
Finally, thank you to all who have given your time, expertise and support. From the brave runners in the Landmarks Half Marathon and How Many Halves Challenge, to our wonderful callers and donors to our summer campaign, we are so grateful for all your incredible support. We would not be here without you. We hope you have a sense of the Foundation doing more to support the Sevenoaks community across the world, throughout your life. And as I reflect on the power of connected people and special places, we will be working hard to ensure that everyone feels a part of this wonderful school, for many years to come.
