At the end of the year , the department said farewell to Mr Cornah , the Head of Sailing , who is heading to the US on sabbatical , and also stepping down as Commodore in the BSDRA ( British Schools Dinghy Racing Association ) after our team won the finals . He has done a huge amount of work for the sport and has led teams to glory on many occasions . To honour him , we held the Cornah Cup at Bough Beech , with many Old Sennockians returning to compete in a team racing event . It was a day of great weather ( making the sailing even more competitive ) and enjoyed by all . Mr Cornah will be greatly missed , and we all wish him well . The sailing team will be in the safe hands of Mr Sheridan next year .
Sailing has also received the exciting new addition of Miss Caswell and Mrs Johnson to the department . They both have extensive sailing and coaching backgrounds and will be able to offer great insights into the programme .
I want to congratulate all the students and staff who took part in sailing this year . We all pulled together , in every type of weather . Our incredible joy and passion have led to immense success in our events , and great enjoyment of this incredible sport .
