WORKING WITH REFUGEES
Helping people settle into the local area with English lessons , IT and social opportunities has been an inspiration for us as well as , we hope , for them .
TEFL
Over the course of the last year , I had the opportunity to embark on a Level 3 TEFL course along with six Upper Sixth students . This enriching experience comprised a series of tests and two graded assignments , which equipped us with the necessary skills to design and deliver comprehensive English lessons to adult foreign language students .
The TEFL course not only provided us with a range of techniques and methods to create engaging presentations , but it also presented a unique opportunity to apply our newfound skills through the refugee partnerships service . Working with refugees allowed us to put our knowledge into practice and witness the positive impact it had on their language learning journey . The satisfaction derived from delivering effective lessons was often surpassed by the heartfelt gratitude expressed by the refugees , who sent touching messages of appreciation at the conclusion of their time with us .
Throughout our sessions , whether we were teaching grammar structures , workplace vocabulary or the art of writing emails , we consistently achieved successful outcomes . The knowledge and abilities acquired from the TEFL course undoubtedly played a pivotal role in our achievements . As a result of this experience , my passion for teaching and aiding others in language acquisition has flourished over the past year . I am excited to continue my journey in teaching English and making a positive impact on the lives of others .
