MUSIC AT SEVENOAKS ORCHESTRAL CONCERTS
From Disney favourites to a lesser-known symphony by Sinding , there are thrilling performance opportunities for instrumentalists throughout the school .
The orchestral concerts are some of the most exciting concerts of the year , and this year was no exception . One concert took place in the Michaelmas term and one in the Lent term . Various groups , all of whom had been preparing during the weeks and months leading up to the concerts , took to the stage in turn to create what can only be described as orchestral extravaganzas ! These included Foundation Orchestra , Sevenoaks Strings , the Wind Band and , of course , the Symphony Orchestra .
In the Michaelmas term , the Foundation Orchestra played a Disney medley , which was incredible , especially given that some of the members had only been playing for a few months , and in some cases , even less ! It was also nice to have this number included in the concert , as the other performances were safely within the genre of classical music , and
