As the term drew to a close our 1st XI , 2nd XI , U15A and U15B teams all won their leagues and we finished with an overall 56 per cent win rate which demonstrates the balanced fixture schedule that we have .
I would like to thank all the leaving students for their commitment and dedication to football at Sevenoaks over the years and wish you all the best for the future . As ever I extend my thanks to all staff who have supported the football programme so well this year .
GIRLS
Jack Jarvis
For girls , football continued to go from strength to strength and it has been great to see the number of fixtures increase .
The senior girls ’ team had a terrific season , winning 11 of the 16 matches played , drawing two and losing only three against very strong opposition . We played and won competitive fixtures in all three terms . We competed in the inaugural ISFA South East League , winning three matches , drawing one and having to concede the points to league winners , Ardingly , when exams and other commitments prevented us from fielding a team . The girls played superb football , scoring some wonderful goals .
Awards went to Stephanie Cannon as Most Valuable Player , Sophie Gildemeister as Most Promising Newcomer , and to Jessica Fleming and Charlie Peters who shared the Golden Boot for top scorer , with nine goals each .
The most memorable moment of the season was arguably Jessica ’ s slaloming run and shot in an away match , which stunned a group of sceptical boys into silence on the touchline .
