Rocky . As these were all fun and recognisable tunes , the performances had a light-hearted quality . These well-known soundtracks were all put together in a colossal blend , with one film ’ s music smoothly transitioning into the next . The shouting of the iconic ‘ Ghostbusters ’ line allowed an amusing side to contrast with some of the more serious-sounding segments of the pieces , and we personally think that this was an excellent touch . As members of the Foundation Orchestra , we found the entire process hugely rewarding .
The Foundation Orchestra ’ s appearance was just one of many amazing performances of the night .
Numerous other pieces were played and sung by members of Year 7 , 8 and 9 as solos , groups and even a couple of choirs – one made up of the entirety of Year 7 ! There was also a violin quartet , a piano duet and a singing soloist . These musicians drew the audience in and performed incredibly engagingly . Everyone that night put in vast amounts of dedication and this was evident in the quality of the concert .
A substantial number of students and teachers contributed to making the concert spectacular . We hope that everyone , whether musician , backstage or audience member , had a wonderful and memorable evening immersed in the uplifting music .
