This year , the CCF again set a new record for largest intake , with 136 Year 10 cadets entering the Training Section .

While the Michaelmas term and Summer term saw regular training afternoons , Covid-19 put paid to field days in October and almost all face-to-face training in the Lent term . Nevertheless , the Year 10s managed an evening exercise in September which included camouflage , air rifle shooting , navigation , leadership tasks and an evening meal of field rations . Thankfully , Summer term field days and a military skills camp went ahead as usual , and the Year 10 Gun Run squad demonstration formed part of the Founder ’ s Day video presentation .
Two long service awards were made to staff : a 4th clasp to the Cadet Force Medal for long service ( 36 years ) for Lieutenant Commander Peter Hill , and a 1st clasp ( 18 years ) for Captain / Sergeant Ken Henderson- Thynne , bringing the combined staff experience to 255 years in the CCF and regular service !
Our Senior Cadet prizewinners were Warrant Officer 2 George Cox ( Army ), Warrant Officer Theo Duke ( Royal Navy ) and Flight Sergeant Tasha Dambacher ( RAF ).
