Success despite the pandemic ; a series of brilliant individual selections and our U15 girls ’ team finish as county champions .

The school ’ s keen cricketers worked hard during the off season with over 50 students undertaking individual or group lessons each week before school , and the Lent term saw an impressive number of pupils committing to regular attendance at preseason training . Two U13 girls ’ teams and two U15 girls ’ teams took part in the Lady Taverners Indoor Competition . The U13s finished third and narrowly missed out on the county finals . The U15s cruised through and went one further by winning the county tournament .
Several students were successful in making the county squads for the 2020 season : Harry Houillon ( Kent Academy ), Coco Streets ( Regional Development Centre and Kent U18 ), Vikas Kokkiligadda ( Kent U18 ),
Isla McCulloch and Esther Adcock ( Kent U15 ), Max Malkinson ( Kent U14 Blue Caps ), Fred Smith ( Kent U13 ), Harry House ( Kent U13 Blue Caps ) and Ella Lockhart ( Kent U13 ).
The following pupils also made their area representative teams : Ollie Chaplin and Nick Chaplin ( Northern Warriors U18 ), Douglas Ramchandran ( Northern Warriors U16 ), Archie McCulloch , Fred Ivey , Harry Scott , Milan Escarcega , Monty Thompson and Lakshya Lokwani ( Northern Warriors U14 ), Kobi Smith ( Northern Warriors U13 ) and Tilly Smith ( Northern Warriors Hardball Girls Squad ).
After a very successful year for the 1st XI last year and such a promising start to this year ’ s season , it was such a shame for the Upper Sixth not to have any cricket to play in the summer . They were fantastic role models for any future 1st XI players and we wish them all the best for the future .
