G irls Football
Senior team
This was a fine season, but it still managed to leave
us with a sense of what might have been. Undeniable
milestones included a victory over Cobham in our
opening match in September and our success in
emerging from the group stages of the Charterhouse
Sevens for the first time. Almost all these awards are two-term awards, so the
players who joined us in second term were ineligible,
but their contribution to the success of the team
was considerable and it is important to pay tribute
to Giulia Clini, Claire Morgan, Phoebe Buckland and
Camille Favre.
In the latter competition, we drew 1-1 with Repton in
the quarter-finals, losing only on penalties. In the ISFA
Under 18 Cup, we finished second to the eventual
finalists, earning two wins and a draw and losing only
narrowly to Alleyn’s at home in a match we could
have won. Perhaps our best performance came in the
away match against Bede’s in the group stage, when
we succeeded in scoring 12 goals, conceding just
two in reply. Results: Played 11, Won 5, Drew 1, Lost 5
This season saw the emergence of some fine players,
such as goalkeeper Cerys Jenkins, who, in the face of
stiff competition from Imogen Salmon, won Most
Promising Newcomer Award at our end-of-season
dinner. The award for Most Valuable Player was shared
between our captain Lovisa Lindquist and our
vice-captain Imme van der Plas. This year’s Golden
Boot for the top scorer went to Ellie Parton, whose
haul included five against Bede’s.

Middle School
We offered football as a summer sport option to
Middle School girls for the first time and were blown
away by the amount of interest it generated. We
had a total of 54 girls across Years 9 and 10 who
chose football and although it was a difficult task to
find fixtures for all teams, the positive attitude and
enthusiasm shown in training sessions led to
an incredible level of improvement across the group.
There were a few matches, the highlight being a
2-0 win for the U15 girls against Forest School.
Well done to all!
