The archery club is a place where students make meaningful connections across different grades and practice their archery skills. There is no experience or skill required- the club is purely fun!
Meetings happen weekly in the gym, and the archery club captains send out a Canvas announcement each week as a reminder. Club members are responsible for the set-up and take-down of the archery equipment at lunch. Some weeks there are special events like adding balloons to pop on the target board or having some fun competition across the different target ranges. The club is open to anyone from grade 8 to grade 12 and drop-ins are always welcome.

The Croftonian gives students the unique opportunity to capture and preserve the memories of the school year. Members work together to gather content, design pages, and document key events, ensuring the yearbook reflects the spirit and achievements of the student body. Through creativity and collaboration, students develop valuable skills in photography, writing, and graphic design while bringing the school’ s story to life. Join us in creating a lasting keepsake that celebrates our shared experiences!

The debate program helps students develop their public speaking and debate skills, whether they simply want to develop confidence or wish to participate in high-level competitions. Students learn how to quickly prepare and structure an argument in addition to working on their presentation skills. The program also seeks to foster a sense of community between novice and junior debaters and their senior counterparts. This program includes opportunities to participate in many competitions off-site throughout the year.
Families of students who qualify for debate and public speaking tournaments outside of British Columbia will cover the cost of their child’ s transportation, accommodation, meals, sightseeing excursions, and other incidentals related to the debate and public speaking tournament. In addition, the family will cover 100 % of the travel costs of the CHS debate coach and teacher sponsor. If for any reason a student cancels participation in a tournament after travel arrangements are confirmed, the family will continue to be responsible for their child’ s, the coach and teacher sponsor costs.
