And Jeanette said she
likes to inspire her students
to develop their own style
of painting.
Her own work has been
shown at the White Castle
Gallery in Toronto and
she still has a lot of her
paintings at Studio Two
in Hamilton.
She studied art at
McMaster University.
Jeanette was one of the
artists who participated in
the Trent Hills Gallery Tour
and Studio Hop that was
held in October here.
In fact one of her
paintings, a colourful
oil creation on canvas of
fish, was purchased by an
admiring customer.
“Right now I am working
mostly in acrylics and
watercolours but I painted
in oils for 10 years,” she
commented.
She also did a lot of
portrait work.
It’s that familiarity with
different mediums and
styles that Jeanette brought
with her to class.
“Here we are working
with acrylics and
watercolours and people
are working with both
mediums, some are
beginners, some have
painted before or maybe
haven’t painted for a while
and are back at it,” she said
as she walked around the
room filled with “artists”.
