Finding Your Own Style

I will get right to it.

Glamcore! That is what works for me, a bit of glamcore, though more soft glamcore than anything else. My style is sexy, daring, provocative, teasing, revealing, but never rude, never obscene, or inappropriate.

But I do enjoy exploring my more darker side, and through self portraits, i find that these often give the strongest images over time. Of course, it is all very well with getting so many online interactions with ones artistry, likes and loves, shares and mentions, praise and applause, but what does it all mean if the images do not resonate with you?

You see, I see myself in a certain light, in quite a few certain lights as it happens, as it the same with everybody else, we are multidimensional, and I am not about to start talking astral projection or some shit like that, no, I merely mean that there is more to us than just one aspect of our lives, our drives, our passions, and with our self portraits, we can explore certain traits within us, playfully or explicitly, the choice is yours.

But you do not have a style yet, well you might but, for arguments sake, and for the sake of others who do not have a certain style, finding your own style is not something you have to rush to do, it is not something one can force, it is something that happens naturally over time. You will, after a while, begin to see patterns forming within your portraits, and most likely these patterns will have subconsciously been planted from past events and old memories such as album artworks from your parents vinyl collection, or even literature from when you were at school.

And over time even your style will develop as your journey progresses, as is only natural and right.

There is no right or wrong way in finding your own look, it is a natural evolution of who you are, just be you and always aim to please yourself, not others.

Of course, there is more to my self portraits than glamcore, but glamcore does form the main body of my work these days, and even now I find new ways of expressing myself.

What works for you probably will not work for me, i mean it might, but it might not, and the same is true in reverse, what works for me... you get the point...
