With the 2016 Summer Olympics scheduled to take place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
this summer, the race is on for our top US athletes to qualify in their divisions.
Currently, only 63 spots have been secured out of the over 500 total spaces
available for our US athletes. Many of the athletes that have been training over the
past several years are now moving from competition phase to qualifying phase.
Some sports have already named the athletes selected, and others will not be
selecting their team until closer to Opening Ceremonies. We look forward to the full
list of athletes that will be representing our country on August 6th, Day 1 in the
Games of the XXXI Olympiad. Here are some of our California athletes that have

Haley Anderson - Open Water Swimming
Haley Anderson is an Olympic Silver Medalist from Granite Bay, CA who will be
participating in this year’s Olympic Games. Anderson qualified for her second
Olympic Team with a ninth-place finish in the 10K at the 2015 FINA World
Championships. She qualified for the 2015 FINA World Championships with a
runner-up finish in the 10k and a win in the 5K at the 2015 Open Water Nationals.
Anderson was also a Gold medalist in the open water 10k at the 2014 Pan Pacific
Championships in Maui, Hawaii.
