Where do you shop for Christmas gifts ?
Where do you like to find your Christmas gifts . We asked that question on Facebook to our readers , and it ’ s no surprise that the majority were fond of shopping local .
It may also be no surprise that most of our responses were from people who had strong opinions on what the best locally owned store to shop at is . Paul ’ s Discount seems to be the clear winner . Almost every other comment within the 146 responses mentioned the family-owned department store that ’ s been around since 1960 .
Other local businesses like the Mole Hole , Haney ’ s
Appledale Farm , the Peddler ’ s Mall , Mustard Seed Trading Co . and Thee Ark Christian Bookstore got plenty of shoutouts , as did some of the area ’ s chain stores , such as Walmart and the newly-opened Ross .
But plenty of readers had unique ideas for how to shop for your loved ones at Christmastime . Hand-made gifts seem popular , as are repurposed items or event antique items . For that , one of Somerset ’ s newest places to look for or sell crafty items , the Makers Mill , already seems to have its fans .
