new procedure center in Somerset to allow more access to the care that is so desperately needed in southern Kentucky . The procedure center , located at 50 Med Park Square Drive , Suite 2 , will allow for more streamlined care that Brown believes will be more efficient and cost effective for his patients .
“ Patients will be treated well and they ’ ll feel like family in a very short order ,” Brown said . “ We have ultrasound techs in the office that can help with the work up and follow up and that helps the care be more seamless . You ’ re going to get great care closer to home .”
Brown is excited about the leaps forward vascular surgery has made in the last few year . These changes allow conditions that used to require surgery to be treated in the office without the need for hospitalizations and surgery .
One problem that many people face requiring the assistance of vascular surgeons is varicose veins . In previous decades these veins , that are not only unsightly but painful , required surgery but not anymore .
“ We were stripping veins and people would have a lot of pain recovering from that ,” Brown said . “ Now we ’ re able to treat these veins with needles . I haven ’ t made an incision on somebody ’ s legs in many , many years .
Brown is extremely proud of the work he and his staff have been doing in Somerset this last year , and now in Danville and London as well . He has a singular goal when treating the patients in southern Kentucky .
“ For me success is seeing a transformation ,” Brown said . “ Seeing a patient that came in and they had a problem , we were able to fix that problem and to see them in the office later knowing that they are without that pain - I can ’ t explain the feeling . It ’ s very rewarding .”
