this wide range of flavors to their customers . More specifically , he claims that they ’ ve been receiving customer recommendations since first opening .
“ I think the thing that really separates us is that we ’ ll make whatever customers want to see ,” he says . “ If you want something here , you let us know . We ’ ll do our best to make it , and we have . That ’ s how we have fifty different flavors .”
On top of wanting to carry a vast selection , the family behind GiGi ’ s also strives to provide one with authenticity . Fabiola Fernandez , the shop ’ s owner and head chef , has always been passionate about making sweets , especially ones with all-natural flavors .
For their fruit-flavored selection , which includes mango , coconut , banana , and peach , they use real fruit . With that said , their cheese ice cream does use cream cheese and their sweet corn ice cream contains actual corn . However , you don ’ t have to worry about showing any ID for their tequilaflavored ice cream .
Other menu items include a variety of Mexican-style sweets , snacks , drinks , and fruity concoctions , all of which are also made from natural ingredients and offer a “ mixture of flavor .”
“ Our first priority is ice cream ,” states Cesar , “ but having those snacks really entreats people because they don ’ t see it anywhere else .”
By offering their unique cuisine to the public , the Fernandez family feels they fit right in with the environment of the Tradewind Center , which has been deemed a hub of diversity in recent years .
Alongside the ice cream shop are other foreign-based establishments , such Yamato Steakhouse of Japan , Mirch Masala Indian Grill , the Somerset Asian Market , and In the Mix Shakes , another hispanic-based sweetery .
“ I think that pushed me to really put in more here to add to the diversity that ’ s already here ,” adds Cesar .
