am unable to drive , and they stay on top of everything . I am so thankful for that .”
Said Cooley , “ We decided to put in this location because there wasn ’ t another doctor ’ s office in Burnside or south of Somerset .
“ We wanted to help the underserved and that ’ s why we came to this location ,” she added .
They had patients in McCreary , Wayne , and Somerset so they tried to plant themselves somewhere in the middle to be able to serve their communities well .
In May of 2018 , they were fully on board to start a clinic after they had been discussing the possibility for many years . By August , they had already established their name , found their building , and had renovations on the old pallet mill in the process . It took a short time to have the clinic ready to serve patients .
“ Everything just fell into place for us ,” said Cash .
They opened in January of 2019 , a year before the COVID-19 pandemic — “ and we have been growing ever since ,” said Cooley .
The pandemic was difficult for the small establishment , but they made it through .
“ We told each other if we could just see 20 patients a day , that would be big for us ,” said Cash . “ On the first day , we had 22 patients . We weren ’ t planning on this to happen so fast .”
They now see an average of 1500 patients monthly and are currently accepting new patients . They are proud to accept all insurances and are ready to grow their reach .
One of their new patients from Monticello , Michael Etherton says , “ It seems like everything is doing good here .”
The clinic ’ s office hours are Tuesday and Thursdays until 7:30 p . m . You can reach their office at ( 606 ) 341-1339 . They are also open Monday , Wednesday and Friday from 8:30-4:30 and every other Saturday .
