Charge to the Strategic Planning Committee

The staff asked to serve on the Strategic Planning Committee were provided the following points as a charge to consider as they took on the work of preparing a plan to chart the course for the Division over the next five years :
• Keep at the forefront , the University ’ s strategic plan , Forward Focused : Where Innovation Meets Possibilities . The goals and strategies contained in Forward Focused serve as guideposts for this planning process .
• The members of this committee have been selected with intentionality to represent a wide variety of perspectives from within our division . The work of this committee must be inclusive of the many stakeholders with whom we engage .
• Involve your peers and other stakeholders in this process to better understand the work expected of our division and how we can best complete our tasks to serve the needs of our constituents . Collaboration is an essential component of our work , therefore , this process must be collaborative in nature .
• Think boldly and without limitations about how SEES might do our best work . As the committee completes this work it is important to consider how to innovate to go beyond what has always been done .
• Recommendations put forward must be informed by the data gathered throughout this process .
• To promote transparency , the committee should utilize technology to its advantage to maintain and share information about the process .
