QB Bo Wallace: Wallace will attempt to lead the Rebels to their second win in Nashville this season. It will be a homecoming for Wallace, who grew up in Pulaski, Tenn. Wallace has been very productive again this season, throwing for over 3,000 yards and 22 total touchdowns. He has also cut his interceptions down from 17 to nine. However, four of those nine took place in the final two games of the regular season. WR Donte Moncrief: Moncrief came into the season with high expectations and has displayed glimpses of greatness. Unfortunately for Ole Miss, he has been inconsistent all season. For example, in four of the final eight games of the season, Moncrief averaged 123.3 receiving yards per game. However, in the other four games, Moncrief averaged an anemic 24.8 receiving yards per game. Hugh Freeze’s team will need Moncrief’s best in this game. S Cody Prewitt: Prewitt leads the SEC with six interceptions and is tied for the fourth most by any player in the country. He leads or shares the team lead with 70 tackles, six interceptions and 13 passes defended, while he also has 4.0 tackles for loss and two forced fumbles. The All-SEC performer will need to be on his game because he will play most of the game trying to stop the run, but he cannot get sucked in for the big play in the passing game. LB Serderius Bryant: Bryant is tied with Prewitt for the team lead with 70 tackles. The All-SEC linebacker also leads the Rebels with 10.5 tackles for loss and is second with three sacks. Bryant is not very tall at 5’9” but will need to use all of his 215 pounds to shed off multiple blockers while facing the Yellow Jackets’ option offense. LB Denzel Nkemdiche: Most of the press since high school for the Nkemdiche family has been for the youngest brother, Robert. However, it is Denzel who has quietly won two All-SEC awards and must play a strong, disciplined ballgame. As he and Bryant go, so do the Rebels in this game.
