Keb’ Mo’ aka Kevin Moore is a 3-time Grammy winner and one fine purveyor of down-and-rootsy blues who has been described as“ a living link to the seminal delta blues that travelled up the Mississippi River and across the expanse of America.” This year he embarks on a new chapter in his career with the release of his latest album BLUESAmericana which earned a Grammy nomination for Best Americana Album. Over the past two decades Keb’ has cultivated a reputation as a modern master of American roots music through the understated excellence of his performances and his collaborations with the likes of B. B. King, Bonnie Raitt and Jackson Browne.

Chautauqua Founder, Warren Nelson, brings his latest production back to the Big Top stage after debuting it to great acclaim in 2014.“ Take Me To The Islands” is an original musical celebration of the Apostle Islands. Like“ Riding the Wind,” it is a multi-media extravaganza featuring an all-star band.“ This show is a people’ s history of those who immigrated here, a portrait of daily life, work and play, from the Ojibwa’ s arrival to present day, a song of why we all love it here,” says Nelson.

MU DAIKO JAPANESE DRUMMERS Sat. AUG 8, 1:00PM
It’ s all about the rhythm in this performance born of arts from the heart of the Asian American experience. Mu Daiko performs a variety of traditional and contemporary works, ranging from traditional Taiko repertoire( ancient Japanese form of percussion using large drums) to original pieces composed by its members. The group regularly premieres new work at its annual performances, continuing to stretch the boundaries of the art form and contributing to the innovation of American Taiko.

Hot Rize has been astounding the bluegrass world with their fresh, contemporary approach to traditional music ever since their formation in 1978. The band’ s unique and progressive style of bluegrass, powerful original songs, tight-as-a-drum ensemble playing, and dynamic stage show quickly made them stars on the major festival circuit and far beyond. In 1990, Hot Rize won the International Bluegrass Association’ s first Entertainer of the Year Award. In 2014, they released their much-anticipated studio album When I’ m Free, their first in 24 years. Hot Rize features Bryan Sutton, Tim O’ Brien, Pete Wernick and Nick Forster.
