GREAT BIG SEA
Saturday, July 6, 7:30 PM Tickets: All Seats Reserved $ 44 Box Seats $ 59 Great Big Sea is a Celtic folk-rock band from Newfoundland and Labrador, with its roots in St. John’ s rowdy pubs. They are best known for performing energetic rock interpretations of traditional Newfoundland folk songs including sea shanties, which draw from the island’ s 500-year-old Irish, Scottish, and French heritage. Judging from their 2009 appearance at Big Top Chautauqua( right after their front man Alan Doyle appeared in Russell Crowe’ s movie Robin Hood as a travelling minstrel and one of the merry men) we know this will be a highly energetic and extremely merry night to be at the tent.
