Thermal Expantion?
Lots of people think the sea level is rising because ice is melting and creating more water, but they dont know the half of it. Or should i say 2/3's of it because thermal expansion is the main cause of the problem. When the earth heats up, so does our oceans, which causes the H2O molecules to expand this would be considered a direct link to Global warming.(National Geographic, 2015) This thermal expansion was the main driver of global sea level rise for 75 - 100 years after the start of the Industrial Revolution, although its contribution has gone down due to the acceleration of land ice shrinking.
Whats going on?
Global Climate change is the primary cause of current Sea level rise. Rising tempertures are causing the ocean to warm up which ultimately causing thermal expantion and the melting of glaciers, ice caps, and ice sheets.
