DESCRIPTION OF THE LEARNING MATERIALS 1 . Group work : How is my smartphone ( product ) made ?
• Students analyse the life cycle of a product . They give recommendations to make the product or business model more sustainable .
HOW TO USE ?
In this learning material , students deal with a complex problem using Problem-Based Learning . Based on a few example case studies , students collect information on how a product is made and what happens after it is discarded . Subsequently , they formulate advice on how to improve the overall sustainability of the product
In the word file , you can find the instructions for the students . It is possible to do the complete exercise together with the students . You can use the powerpoint presentation to go through the lifecycle of a smartphone or avocado . Afterward , students can do the same exercise for a product they choose by themselves . It is also possible to start immediately with the exercise . Let the students work in groups and make sure they have access to the internet to look some things up .
