1 Tell us about the digital EP " BETWEEN EXISTENCE AND THE END " How far received the press and the fans?
The EP " BETWEEN EXISTENCE AND THE END " is in the recording process. We had to postpone the launch and the whole process because the departure of bassist, but now we stand recording and sequence giving the crea on of the new songs that will be part of the full-length future we plan to launch a er the EP.
2 Could you give us the most important aspects of the EP?
The songs on this EP are more focused on the transi on from life to death, and from death to life again. We address the desire for revenge a er death, necromancy and blasphemy.
3 What was the process of recording and mixing?
Currently we recorded completely independently. As each member lives in a different city, we do recording sessions as the availability of each member. The process is slow but today is the most viable way to launch our material.
4 What started the band? And why the name of the band?
he band started in 2013 with André Cândido, Fabricio Macali and Jeferson Casagrande in order to strengthen the local scene. Always we play copyright music and we had the premiere on the 1st " En " Carna Rock Metal Fest in 2014 in Erechim. A er a while, the bassist le the band and joined Marco Antonio further reinforcing the structure of the band. The band ' s name was a joint crea on of the members, we had several ideas, we make a list of names... but in the end chose Morthur by force and symmetry.
5 Tell us Is the STORM FESTIVAL and presenta ons MORTHUR? And how is a concert of the band?
The Storm is a great fes val, great interna onal success of bands have played in this event, and now it ' s our turn to par cipate. Morthur transmits weight and obscurity genera ng immersion in the songs, fast songs have merged with rhythmic music leading the audience to different extremes.
6 What is the process of crea ng topics? And what is the theme of the band?
We create the le ers based on books, movies, mythologies... join us on weekends and noted ideas for future composi ons. As a member is crea ng something new, we will discuss how best to build and structure it in a song. Today, the Morthur talks about Satanism, necromancy, blasphemy, mythologies... but we have composi ons ranging from violence, deadly desires, aliens, paganism, etc …
7 What is the cover of the EP?
The cover is an abstract composi on of x-ray human bones images. At the same me represents the life and death.
8 Are now preparing new songs, they will be edited When?
We are working on new songs along with the recording of the EP. We want to finish recording the EP and already have a material to be able to release a full-length, then we are dividing the week recording / rehearsal / crea on.
Possibly the new songs will be released closer to the end year.
9 What do you know about the Colombian scene? And what is your opinion of American Death Metal scene and the world?
We know the Colombian scene through social networks, we hear bands like Thy An christ and Parabellum. We hope to do a tour of colombia future and know more deeply the Colombian underground. The Death Metal has its regional peculiari es, always bearing in music features from which it was created. The American is the birthplace of big names, quality bands and a strong scene and it certainly will not end. Despite the territorial barriers imposed by individual countries, we believe the metal must be free of borders and fight for the metal union is global, not just regional.
10 What kind of bands do you listen to?
It ' s hard to talk about types of bands, listen to all kinds of metal and worldwide. I believe that Krisiun is one of our biggest inspira ons, along with Nile, Behemoth among other names.
11 could choose three bands to go on tour, who are these groups?
( laughs) This is a very complicated ques on, the answer can vary by day... but I believe that a tour with Krisiun, Behemoth and Ro ng Christ would be something really dark.
12 Anything you want to add and what final comment?
First I want to thank this space to show some of Morthur. We strongly believe that the metal should not have borders, metal is our na on and our union should break down barriers to the evolu on of our ideal in common.
