Around 2005 , Sandra started using a film camera underwater , graduating to a housed Canon compact system the following year . “ The initial attraction of underwater photography changed on our first entry into an underwater photography competition in 2019 ,” she says . “ Seeing all the amazing creative pictures from such talented photographers started to make me think differently and try new things . It ’ s been such a fun journey .”
Sandra says : “ I ’ m a bit of a nudibranch spotter , like a trainspotter but much more exotic . I was mostly using photography as a record rather than thinking about the shots I was taking , it was actually only after I entered my first competition that I thought about my photography as more than simply i-d snaps .”

Ryan says : “ I love sharing the fabulous pattern , colour , structure and personality of the underwater creatures primarily of the UK coastline . I ’ m trying to get the often overlooked , ignored or unnoticed creatures to be noticed .”
