Attendees had the option of try dives or try snorkel sessions in the inviting lake. BSAC’ s East Midlands Regional Team were also on hand providing‘ Try Tech’ sessions on a choice of rebreathers.
Andy’ s early dip in the lake inspired many more to hit the water, either to scuba with friends or snorkel to check out the large schools of resident perch and a few pike. Divers were encouraged to look out for an oversized dinosaur attraction now‘ living’ on the bottom.
The event was supported by Apeks, Cressi, Dynamic Nord and other training centres including Dive with Jimmy( a BSAC Technical Centre in Bedford); Apneists UK, and Skegness Aquarium, which offers shark diving. Members visited from Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire, with some travelling from as far away as the North West of England and South Wales to take part in the fun.
Diverstime’ s Mark Griffin said:“ What a fantastic day! We had a blast watching Andy and Ally arrive by parachute into our lake, and that was only the start of it. Thank
