From the winners of each category , the 2022 Champion was then selected , with Kirsty Andrews scooping the top award . She was presented with the Peter Scoones Memorial Trophy .
Thanking all the 2022 BIUPC entrants , BSoUP ’ s Chair Nick Watson said the judging panel was impressed by the high standard of images , which made the final winning selection a difficult task . This year ’ s judges were Richard Thorn and Trevor Rees .
“ BIUPC is unique in that it has developed a format to allow pictures to be taken anywhere within the coastal or inland waterways of the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland .
“ This has hugely increased the richness and variety of pictures submitted for judging , and so truly allows for a snapshot of the underwater environment captured photographically around these shores under time pressure .”
