Buddy ’ s / Captain Don ’ s House Reef
Over the course of several visits , we have stayed at both Captain Don ’ s Habitat and Buddy Dive . These resorts are next to one another and have ready access to fantastic house reefs . A typical dive day is to load the truck about 8:30am and make 90-minute dives at two locations . A packet of Stroopwafel biscuits is a tasty snack during your surface interval .
After lunch back at our accommodation , we would take our third dive of the day on the house reef . With a short swim to the drop off , the house reef boasts a myriad of critters hiding in many crevices . and a glance inside the many tube sponges will often reveal crabs , shrimp and sheltering small fish . A small wreck , La Machaca sits at 5-12m off Captain Don ’ s and is well worth exploring , as are the coral growing platforms at Buddy Dive .
