The sunstar photograph was also taken among brittlestars, on the Queen of Sweden, a Swedish East Indiaman wrecked in 1745. Billy says:“ The the way the big sunstar was sitting on the ledge, it looked like the brittlestars were worshipping it as some sort of god!”
Something of a purist, one of Billy’ s greatest pleasures is to snorkel in kelp forests, especially when the sun is shining. It’ s such a relaxing place to be,” he says.“ There’ s no trees up here in Shetland, but I love forests, and I feel like this is where you get your forest experience in Shetland. It’ s special when you get everything bathed in light – full sunshine is good, but it’ s even more stunning around sunrise or sunset.
