Sgarbhstac
This tongue-twister of a dive site , Sgarbhstac , off Boreray , was another colourful wall , whose additional enticement was an arch from 20m to 35m or so . We didn ’ t quite hit the arch at the right time of day or part of the dive to be able to enjoy it to the full , but the wall on both sides was more than worth it .
Levenish
Our dive at Levenish was my favourite of the trip . It ’ s hard to describe the experience other than that I felt an almost religious sensation of being close to Poseidon , God of the sea . Levenish itself

Diving Stac Lee
Stac Lee
Our first dive was underneath the incredibly imposing and iconic granite wall of Stac Lee , towering 165m above us and with gannets circling curiously . It ’ s impossible to do justice to the scale of this dive . As you drop in , even a moderate swell feels worthy of treating with respect , so far from the mainland . Under the waves , the visibility is clear as you might expect , revealing awe-inspiring walls covered in life , with enticing undercuts leading who knows where into the deep . The swell was noticeable even at 15m deep , so I stuck to a wall which held straight and true from 20m to 40m or so deep , covered in plumose anemones . In the shallows , washed by the swell , red seaweeds dominated , but I soon retreated back to the shelter of the boat .
