Date set for BIUPC shoot-out
BSAC IS DELIGHTED TO SUPPORT THE British and Irish Underwater Photography Championship ( BIUPC ), to be held on 14 September .
The competition is open to anyone diving around the UK and Republic of Ireland on the day . The competition has three categories : wide-angle ; close-up ; and human impact on marine and freshwater environments . The human impact category accepts images from any camera including drones , iPhones , GoPros or any other camera above or below water .
Pictures entered online will also compete for the highly-coveted Peter Scoones Trophy .
Last year ’ s winner and this year ’ s
organiser Paul Colley said he was delighted to be working with BSAC and hoped that many of its members will take part .
“ The competition has , over the last decade , created a fascinating annual snapshot of the waters in and around the UK and Ireland , with some superb images of its marine and freshwater life .”
BSAC members can enter the competition for £ 10 and have a chance of winning one of the main category trophies . And one talented person will take home the accolade of being crowned British & Irish Underwater Photography Champion 2024 . Torbay splashes in again
THIS SUMMER WILL SEE THE RETURN OF the popular Splash-In photography competition , organised by Torbay BSAC .
Now in its eight year , the one-day competition will take place along the South Devon coastline on Saturday , 29 June . Underwater photographers are challenged to take their best image on the day and can choose between four categories - wide angle , macro / close-up , compact camera and beginners .
Once again , editor of Underwater Photography magazine , Peter Rowlands will be the competition judge , and each category has a prize as well as a trophy for the overall Popular Vote winner , which will be presented at an evening awards dinner .
