LOOKING TO HELP PROTECT OUR oceans and make a local impact ? Then visit BSAC at the Go Diving Show to discover how to get involved in ‘ Motion for the Ocean ’ – an exciting initiative to bring about change to the UK ’ s seas and waterways .
From litter picks and marine surveys to seagrass restoration projects , the BSAC community is already hands-on when it comes to protecting our waters . At a national level , BSAC is also lobbying as part of the Clean Water Sports Alliance . Motion for the Ocean takes it a step further by supporting BSAC members to directly engage with their local decision-makers .
Through collaboration with the initiative , BSAC clubs , training centres , members and all UK divers will be supported to encourage their local councils to actively play their part in ocean conservation .
Co-founded by BSAC member and awardwinning marine conservationist Emily Cunningham MBE , Motion for the Ocean aims to empower people to take action in their communities . Thirty-four councils are already onboard , both coastal and inland , representing more than 4 million UK
