Poseidon CCR try dives for March
IF YOU ARE CURIOUS ABOUT REBREATHER DIVING , then sign up for the BSAC Poseidon Se7en Try Tech event over the weekend of 26-27 March 2022 .
To be held at the National Diving and Activity Centre ( NDAC ) in Chepstow , this joint BSAC / Poseidon weekend offers divers the chance to try out CCR diving for the first time with ‘ have a go ’ sessions on Poseidon Se7en rebreather units . The event is open to Sports Divers ( or equivalent ) and above . Each session costs £ 10 and will last 30-45 minutes .
With places limited on both days , interested members are encouraged to pre-book their place online to ensure a slot . Any interested non-BSAC members should email drt @ bsac . com to book or call 0151 350 6203 .
The CCR instructors leading BSAC Poseidon Se7en Try Tech are Gary and Lindsey Fell from Twin Peak Diving , and Quantum Diver ’ s Colin Rotheram .
Colin said the try dive event on 26 / 27 March is an excellent way for BSAC members to dip their fins into the world of CCR for the first time .
“ Rebreathers are the way forward in diving ; they are not only for deep technical divers , but they are also great for recreational divers ,” Colin explained .
“ The BSAC Poseidon Try Tech event is a chance for us to show open circuit divers with no knowledge of rebreathers that they are not complicated and nothing to be scared of !”

“ It takes time , commitment , meticulous planning and preparation . But these are all qualities of a technical diver and instructor , so the foundations are already in place .
“ It also makes you a better CCR diver in general , and you will be well mentored , with support from the Technical Chief Examiner and BSAC HQ . I ’ d encourage anyone who is thinking of taking the route to CCR Instructor or Instructor Trainer to go for it .”
