Little by little

Bunaken is known, among many things, for the identification in 2003 of the weedy pygmy seahorse Hippocampus pontohi, named after one of the Oasis dive guides. Hentje Pontoh, who recently retired, is credited with the discovery of the 17mm seahorse, which lives between 11 and 25m depth on reef walls exposed to currents and rich in hydroids.
